THE CONFERENCE

The Local Government Revenue Generation and Financial Sustainability Conference is a high-level strategic platform designed to strengthen the financial capacity of local governments to generate sustainable revenue, manage public resources effectively, and deliver essential services to communities. As local authorities face increasing demands for infrastructure, social services, and economic development, the need to build resilient and diversified revenue systems has become critical to ensuring long-term fiscal stability and improved service delivery outcomes.

This conference brings together local government leaders, finance officers, revenue managers, policy makers, and development practitioners to examine current challenges, emerging opportunities, and practical strategies for improving local revenue performance. Participants will explore effective approaches to revenue mobilization, including property taxation, user charges, licensing systems, public-private partnerships, and the use of digital tools to enhance revenue collection and administration.

Through expert-led sessions, case studies, and interactive discussions, the program highlights key areas such as financial planning and budgeting, expenditure management, revenue forecasting, compliance enforcement, financial reporting, and transparency in public financial management.
